Traditional Wood Masks
The designs of these hand made wood masks from the state of Guerrerro are commonly based on ceremonial dance masks that have been used for centuries in fiestas that honor specific sacred occasions, saints and historical events. Most often they are representations of combinations of deities, animals and common archetypes. Celestial Beings, Angels, Devils and Death are also predominant themes.
