¡Welcome Spring with a Visit with Armando and Antonia Jiménez!
Hola, Friends of Mexico Lindo! Well, the first day of Spring is just around the corner at last...and we are very excited to announce that it coincides with three special opportunities to meet Maestro woodcarvers and painters Armando and Antonia Jiménez! The first two dates are Saturday and Sunday, March 20th and 21st. Thanks to assistance from our co-sponsors, the University of Pittsburgh's Center for Latin American Studies, we'll have Armando and Antonia demonstrating in our store. They will answer questions, display their techniques, and autograph copies of the two children's books that feature their work. Of course they will also be selling their wonderful alebrijes, too! You can download the flyer to see the all of the times and details by clicking on the thumbnail here:

Los Jiménez will also be this years' Guest Artists for the 30th Annual Latin American and Caribbean Festival, also sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh's Center for Latin American Studies and the Latin American Cultural Union, on Saturday March 27th. Please follow the link above for all of the details. Mexico Lindo will also have a table at this festival as well, and so the store will be closed that day. The festival will be full of crafts, fun activities, dances, music and food!
March 17th is of course, St. Patrick's Day, and in the past we have talked about the history of the San Patricios. This year we have an exciting musical release from the Chieftains called San Patricio, featuring some famous and marvelously talented collaborators, and we highly recommend it. We will have it in the store in April but you can also obtain it right now via Amazon and the link below:
¡Until next time,Saludos!
